Thanks to the EU COSME programme, Danmarks Statistik was able to determine that 60% of all businesses in Denmark are family owned. Family businesses in Denmark dominate the cultural activities field (84%) and the business services field (72%). Unlike the other countries taking part of the EU COSME programme, Denmark was able to track the progress of its family businesses since 2005.
