We would like to thank the companies of Schwarz Group and the Representation of Baden-Württemberg to the EU in Brussels, for facilitating our welcome reception yesterday, 10th September 2024.
This event allowed us to gather Members of the European Parliament (both new and re-elected), Commission representatives and family business owners from various EU countries, sectors and generations to connect.
We had the pleasure of hearing from EFB’s President, Mr Udo J. Vetter, EFB’s Secretary General Mr Jesús Casado, Deputy Director-General & SME coordinator in the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs of the European Commission Mr Hubert Gambs, Former Vice-President of the European Parliament Mr Alejo Vidal-Quadras Roca and Former Vice President of the European Commission Mr Günther H. Oettinger.
While we communicated our priorities for the next mandate, we also told stories from the real economy which enabled us to highlight the importance and presence of family businesses in our daily lives and in society.
We were also able to participate in Schwarz Group Flagship Event: “Ignite Innovations” where Mr Casado made the point that family businesses think in generations which is vital to ensure Europe’s future competitiveness and that regulatory burden must be addressed and reduced to the level Mr Mario Draghi, mentioned in his report on The Future of European Competitiveness.
EFB remains committed to voice the needs of family businesses towards the EU institutions and to help pave the way for a more competitive and greener Europe on a global stage.
