EFB Meeting with MEP Pascual de la Parte

On the 15th April, European Family Businesses’ Executive and Management Committees had a meeting with Mr Nicolás Pascual de la Parte, Member of the European Parliament.

The discussion covered several important topics including, the changing geopolitical landscape, EU’s the new trade agreements, and challenges affecting relations with existing trading partners. Reference was also made to the way in which high energy prices are impacting businesses and the importance of ensuring resilient international and regional supply chains to as a means of strengthening the EU’s industry and economy.

EFB representatives highlighted the importance of family businesses in securing employment even in times of economic downturn, their ongoing commitment to remaining rooted in the local communities they were founded in and investments. They are the persistent long-term vehicles to achieving for Europe’s long-term competitiveness and strategic autonomy.
