EFB hire new Junior Policy Advisor

Following our recruitment process for a Junior Policy Advisor, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Lynes who joined us at the start of April. Matthew joins us from the European Parliament where he worked as an Accredited Parliamentary Assistant for Jane Brophy MEP (Renew Europe, Liberal Democrats).

He’ll be working to monitor legislation and non-legislative developments, as well as writing EFBs policy papers, helping with comms and managing EFBs participation in EU funded programmes.

Matthew studied at the University of Sheffield where he read BA Hons French and Politics and spent 8 months on an ERASMUS programme working in Chambéry, France as an English Language Assistant. Following his graduation, Matthew worked as a Campaigns and Communications Intern for the Association of Liberal Democrat Campaigners and Councillors in Manchester, where he helped to manage local election campaigns for 2 local political parties. 

Outside of work, Matthew is a keen sportsman and has previously run his own tennis podcast and worked as a Football Systems Operator for Hawk-Eye where he ran the goal line technology system on match days. Matthew enjoys playing hockey and tennis as well as running and skiing. He also enjoys art, travel, reading and music
