The second European Family Business Summit will be held on the 16th and 17th of November in Paris. Following on from last year’s success, EFB will again bring together family business owners, public officials and academics from across Europe to debate the most recent topics for the European family business community.

The first panel entitled, ‘The challenge of inheritance: The next generation conquest and responsibility’ will discuss the challenge of inheritance in the context of values vs growth, as well as innovation vs tradition.

The second panel entitled, ‘Capital in the 21st Century – The family business perspective,’ will be a discussion on the topical issue of capital. With the growing public perception of growing inequality in society, the panelists will discuss the position of family businesses and whether long-term capital is in fact a positive influence.

Presentations will be given by Clarke Murphy, CEO of Russel Reynolds Associates, and Jacky Lintignat, Managing Director of KPMG France. Mr. Murphy will bring his expert insight into how family businesses can recruit and keep the best talent, and Mr. Lintignat will present the results of the latest Family Business Barometer.

The third panel, “What Europe can do for family businesses”, will be discussion around the Parliaments recent report on family businesses in Europe, and what this could be mean concretely for family companies across the EU. We will be joined by Mrs Niebler MEP, the rapporteur of the report.
