SUFABU

On 5th and 6th October, the third transnational meeting of the SUFABU Project looking at succession in family businesses, organised by the project’s Italian Partner CEDIT, took place on a hybrid platform due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.

SUFABU logoSome project partners were able to be physically present in Florence, whilst others, including EFB’s team joined the meeting online.

The transnational meeting was divided into a series of three online meetings, each lasting two hours. The focus was of the third transnational meeting was to explore the results achieved in the project so far, exploring the progress of each organisation in the gathering of case studies from across Europe and looking at administrative aspects of the project. Each partner presented an overview of their work to date, presenting the cases studies they had already conducted and taking questions and discussing the process of gathering the relevant information.

Following interviews with 6 business owners from across Europe on the succession process within their family businesses, EFB successfully completed the objectives for the second intellectual output.
The consortium then explored the requirements for the third intellectual output of the project: the creation of an educational module on a specific area of succession in family businesses. After analysing the requirements of the output, the partners discussed the suitability of each topic for each member and productively decided which body would explore which topic. Following the discussions, EFB are now able to start on the third intellectual output and create an educational module on governance in family businesses.

The fourth transnational meeting of the project is scheduled to take place in Oslo however this will be revised due to the ongoing pandemic.
